Navertellen van verwachtingen, bedoelingen en beloftes

Als we een bedoeling, verwachting of belofte navertellen, gebruiken we het juiste navertellende werkwoord gevolgd door een 'that'-bijzin, met 'would' erin, of een to-infinitief bijzijn. Gebruikte woorden in deze constructie zijn o.a.: hope, promise, threaten, guarantee & swear. Let wel: het woord 'that' is optioneel bij gebruik van een that-bijzin, zoals in het eerste voorbeeld hieronder.
